Rich justice eh?

How does the ankle monitor work? Who cares, it works for all the other people they put these alcohol monitoring devices on.
I don't know how rich she is but she at least has the money to hire an attorney.

For example, not long before I met him, my husband got picked up on a DUI. They pulled him over for driving under the speed limit (hey it's an easy ticket, right?) but he was driving a friends car and couldn't find their insurance and registration and it snowballed from there (he ended up with multiple tickets, most of which got thrown out). He thought the DUI was bogus (he had been out with friends and had a few drinks but said it had been several hours since he'd had a drink) but didn't have the money to fight it so he plead no contest. First offense, his license was suspended but he was allowed to drive with a breathalyzer attached to his truck until the case was settled.

Not long after we started dating, he suddenly got his license back in the mail. Made some calls to find out what was going on and it turns out that in our state, a very specific brand of breathalyzer is stated in the law to be used by police. Some kid that had some money hired an attorney who had never handled a DUI case before and actually conducted some research and found this out. Attorney objected to the DUI on the basis that the arresting police department was not using the correct breathalyzer therefore they could not be sure that the calibration was correct. Every DUI currently in the system that didn't use the correct breathalyzer (in the whole state from what I understood) was thrown out.

In that case, someone with money actually benefited other people (people like my husband anyway, ones who were actually shit-faced got thrown out too :-/ ). Potentially, Jensen's case could do that too. If she can get the probation violation thrown out, other people can use that judgement to their benefit. My husband certainly learned his lesson though. He's not much of a drinker anyway (there's a bottle of Crown on top of our fridge that's going on 3 years old) but he won't drive if he's even had a sip of alcohol.

She's married to some rich dude.

She wrecked this man's life and doesn't care. I don't care about her excuses.

Details of the hearing on March 16, 2018.

Testimony for the defense by a man who has three chemical engineering degrees. The newspaper says he has testified 200 times in criminal cases -- in favor of the defense in those cases.
He testified about the ankle monitoring device.
The logs in question were during the Christmas/New Years period (Dec.2017 and Jan.2018).
He gave specific reasons why he thought specific readings were faulty.

The Deputy District Attorney pointed out that the readings might have been unusual for a non-alcoholic, but perhaps an alcoholic would have different absorption rates. There was also a question about hand sanitizers.

Unrelated to the testimony about the ankle monitor...
Testimony from the cops and from the landlady about what they saw or didn't see.

Why isn't she in jail? The days of drunk drivers getting away with hurting people should be over.
